Located on our wooded home property, with a 2+ acres just for the Forest School, the space backs into an extensive forest and trail system that includes gently flowing streams and a lake.
We are on the Canton/Woodstock border in Georgia.
π¦ We see deer, turtles, rabbits, foxes, and birds (including a massive blue heron!). The rocks here are brilliant shades of white, pink, and orangeβ¦ and anytime you see quartz you know thereβs gold nearby β these creeks are a documented source of gold, and while theyβve been mined out, some still find flakes!
π² The entire forest is a classroom. π²
Our classroom has wooden forts, a tire snake (so fun for balancing!), a sand pit, slides, swings, climbing dome, a beautiful circle space, log benches and seats, and a story-tree. In the works: extensive mud kitchens, a rustic outdoor classroom (large, roofed βlean-toβ shelter), a library box, crafts areas, childrenβs garden for vegetables and herbsβ¦ and more!
