Located on our wooded home property, with a 2+ acres just for the Forest School, the space backs into an extensive forest and trail system that includes gently flowing streams and a lake.
We are on the Canton/Woodstock border in Georgia.
🦌 We see deer, turtles, rabbits, foxes, and birds (including a massive blue heron!). The rocks here are brilliant shades of white, pink, and orange… and anytime you see quartz you know there’s gold nearby – these creeks are a documented source of gold, and while they’ve been mined out, some still find flakes!
🌲 The entire forest is a classroom. 🌲
Our classroom has wooden forts, a tire snake (so fun for balancing!), a sand pit, slides, swings, climbing dome, a beautiful circle space, log benches and seats, and a story-tree. In the works: extensive mud kitchens, a rustic outdoor classroom (large, roofed “lean-to” shelter), a library box, crafts areas, children’s garden for vegetables and herbs… and more!
