My university studies were rigorous and loved, but there was a long time when I hated school. I dropped out of high school twice, ultimately graduating by homeschooling myself the final two years. I was bored and anxious at school; I felt it wasn't about genuine learning - it was about staying awake and remembering disjointed information for exams.

I want more for the children in our community, and for my own children. A love of reading, eyes lit up doing science experiments, exploring genuine interests, an integrative approach that makes learning cohesive and abstract concepts make sense... let us begin!

Forest School Teacher Training & Forest School Director Training completed through the Forest School Teacher Institute (FSTI).

Intensive, on-location, hands-on training.
Interviews with school directors and teachers, tours of many forest schools - differing in structure and space- and the wisdom of Jean Lomino.
A great education in connecting children with nature, play-based learning, and inspiring the development of the child as a whole person.
